Shepherd University seeks an Assistant Professor of Nursing to join our team. The Assistant Professor tenure-track position requires teaching in the BSN and potentially the DNP program. Courses may be in-person, hybrid, or online. Evening and/or weekend teaching may be required. The candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching, service, and scholarship requirements as outlined in the Shepherd University Faculty Handbook. Specific teaching requirements are dependent upon departmental needs. Additional faculty responsibilities include student advisement, participation at school, college, and university meetings, chairing a school, college, or university committee, and engagement in university service at all levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
MSN from a nationally accredited nursing program
BSN from a nationally accredited nursing program
PhD or DNP from a nationally accredited nursing program
Three (3) years of registered nursing (RN) teaching experience
Five (5) years of current bedside RN medical-surgical nursing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
National certification in nursing specialty
Online/distance education teaching experience
Appointment to this position will be contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
