Advancing the mission of Messiah
University, the Education Department educates students for a lifetime of intellectual exploration, ethical leadership, and exceptional
professional practice within a complex world. The coursework for most of our Undergraduate programs is conducted primarily in person with
occasional online coursework. The Department offers Early childhood (Pre-K-4), Early Childhood/Special Education, Special Education
(PreK-12), and Middle Level Programs (4-8).

EDUC 216: Arts and Technology:


  • Stipend for Spring 2026 to develop and create
    EDUC 216: Arts and Technology, including modules that can be shared across disciplines.
  • Teach two sections of the course in Fall
    2026 as an asynchronous online course with a one-hour on-campus lab held on Thursday evenings, section 1: 6:15-7:15 and section 2:
    7:30-8:30. The in-person on-campus lab is not negotiable. Only applicants able to teach the on-campus lab will be considered for the
    position.

Course Description:
A 3-credit course that examines the theoretical foundations and pedagogical
implications of technology use in education, with a particular focus on how artistic frameworks, visual culture, and digital media shape
teaching and learning. Through hands-on projects, critical analysis, and collaborative learning, students develop practical skills in using
digital tools and artistic methodologies to design inclusive, innovative, and culturally responsive instructional experiences. Emphasis is
placed on creativity, problem-solving, and the ethical use of technology in education.

Develop the course using best practices in
online teaching, technology, and pedagogy appropriate for students preparing to become teachers. Prepare lesson plans, quizzes, tests, teach
course material, provide feedback, and grades throughout the semester.



Qualifications
Professional expertise. Relevant
graduate degree required. Teaching experience is preferred. Candidate should have a commitment to excellence in teaching in a Christian
Liberal Arts setting.
