Overview
The Tufts Pre-College team is currently seeking a Course
Assistant to assist in managing our 1-week College Prep 101 for
Neurodivergent Students program. College 101 for Neurodivergent Students is a 5-day experience designed to help neurodivergent
students explore college life, understand their options, and feel confident about the next steps in their academic journey.
The
Course Assistant will be responsible for assisting Instructors in facilitating CP101 sessions, which focus on preparing neurodivergent
students for the college admissions process and college life.
We are actively seeking undergraduates and/or graduates to fill this
role
Time Commitment
The 1-week College Prep 101 for Neurodivergent Students Program includes sessions that will take
place in-person, Monday through Friday throughout the program. The cohort runs for 1 week from June 22 to June 26, 2026.
Program Dates and Time: June 22 to June 26, 2026
Fridays, 9AM-4PM (7 hours per day)
Program
Preparation: 1-2 hours/week prior to program start (these hours will be remote)
Program Assistance:
Mon-Fri 9am-5pm during programming. There may be additional hours, as agreed upon by CA and Program Lead over the program dates
(these hours must be completed in-person on the Tufts Medford campus)
Compensation
Course Assistants will be
paid $17-$20 per hour, depending on experience, for all hours worked for program planning and program implementation.
Responsibilities
As Course Assistant, your duties include, but are not limited to:
- Program Preparation
- Materials: prepare and package various program materials to be distributed to the program participants
- Systems: assist the Program Instructor in setting up the systems needs of the program such as Canvas, Zoom, etc.
- Logistics: assist the Program Lead in the coordination of the guest speaker/facilitator sessions, the opening/closing
ceremonies, any field trips, etc. - Training: participate in all training requirements of the program, including training
requirements of the UC Pre-College Programs
- Program Assistance
- Participation: attends all events for
the entire duration of program - Behavioral modeling: serve as a positive adult role model for members in the program
through appropriate dress, speech, attitude, and courtesy; demonstrate reliability and punctuality by arriving on-time for all scheduled
activities - Student support: monitor student attendance; accompany students to and from all events and classroom changes;
assist students who are struggling with any logistical concerns - Instructor support: provide basic AV assistance,
distribute any course materials, otherwise support all needs of the Program Instructor and any guest speakers/facilitators - Evaluation: suggests improvements, needs, hazards and recurring trends to Program Lead for further evaluation
- Participation: attends all events for
