Salary: Start of $41,000 annually, with actual offer based on education and experience

Duties and Responsibilities: – Oversee all day-to-day operations of the Testing Center. Work with the supervisor to
develop and update services and processes to implement and monitor policies and procedures in response to changing demands; to evaluate exam
procedures to ensure they are relevant to the testing format; and to implement new testing procedures as needed.



  • Stay up to date on
    all certifications and all testing staff certifications to ensure no interruptions of testing operations. Cross train, mentor, schedule, and
    direct the work of new staff of all testing regulations and requirements and create accounts for new testing personnel.
  • Coordinate and prepare testing sessions; assist candidates by informing them of the appropriate test taking procedure; monitor candidates
    taking tests; and report any testing infractions or acts of academic dishonesty to the appropriate personnel.
  • Advise testers in a
    professional and respectful manner regarding rules, eligibility requirements, and qualifications governing placement test scores.
  • Communicate, publicize, and update testing schedules and ensure accuracy of information published on the SOWELA Testing website.
  • Work in conjunction with the Student Services Administrative Coordinator to administer, proctor, score, and transmit the results of all
    tests administered by the Testing Center including timely input of scores in Banner.
  • Observe institutional, state/federal,
    governmental, Federal Aviation Administration, and test agency policies and procedures for security and confidentiality of testing records,
    including adherence to FERPA as it relates to SOWELA’s testing services.
  • Proctor HiSET and other exams within correctional
    centers while adhering to all institutional safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain security of tests and materials by
    routinely inventorying materials, reviewing procedures for security, and ensuring secure storage of and returning of testing materials to
    appropriate parties.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot testing center equipment. Ensure that the computers have appropriate updates and
    software for testing. Ensure cameras are in working order and in compliance. Provide information on computer platform requirements,
    associated cost, equipment required, etc. Make recommendations to supervisors regarding these matters.
  • Maintains testing center
    statistics including number of people tested, number of tests given, types of tests, testing fees paid/collected, and records of no shows.
  • Handle inquiries in person, via email, and via telephone regarding scheduling information, types of tests available, directions
    to the Testing Center, etc.
  • Communicate with instructional sites to ensure test integrity and to keep all testing staff abreast
    of new testing requirements and information.
  • Communicate with third party clients about policies and testing requirements.
  • Work with supervisor to order materials, equipment, and tests needed for testing operations for SOWELA’s main campus and instructional
    sites.
  • Gather information on demand for potential new tests and maintain open communication with all departments on campus to
    stay informed of test trends, quantity of required tests needed, and changes in tests/platforms.
  • Maintain the Testing Center
    Digital Calendar to reflect all scheduled exams/tests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required
Education
: Bachelor’s Degree

Required Experience: Two years’ experience
in the areas of testing, advising, enrollment, student affairs or another related field.

  • Proficiency in or ability to become proficient in a variety of software, including but not limited to Office 365 apps.

  • Ability to perform basic
    mathematical computations needed to complete job tasks.
  • Skilled at planning, organizing, and prioritizing job duties to meet
    deadlines.
  • Maintaining interpersonal professional working relationships at all levels – students, peers, and Executives.
  • Frequent (50% or more) sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Lift and move items weighing up to twenty [20] pounds, with or
    without assistance.
  • Reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch as required for filing and storage of office supplies and other work-related
    equipment.
