Job Description Summary


The Dining Services Food Service Worker supports Saint Leo University Dining Services by delivering high-quality food preparation and excellent customer service in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive campus environment. This role assists with food preparation, service, sanitation, and operational support while ensuring compliance with all food safety and health standards. Team members may be assigned to various dining locations or functional areas as needed.

Academic Year Schedule: This position works during the fall and spring semesters. Employees remain actively employed during the summer months and continue to receive eligible benefits, though no work hours are scheduled during this time.



Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food in accordance with established recipes, safety standards, and supervisor direction.
  • Provide professional, friendly, and responsive customer service to students, faculty, staff, and campus guests.
  • Maintain clean and sanitized workstations, kitchen equipment, and service areas at all times.
  • Follow all HACCP, food safety, and health regulations, including proper temperature monitoring and food labeling.
  • Stock, set up, and break down service stations, salad bars, and buffet areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support efficient dining operations across campus locations.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; food service or related experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Reliable transportation required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and navigate stairs.
