Responsibilities


DESCRIPTION:
The Coordinator, Learning and Development supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the college’s learning and development strategies. This role fosters a culture of continuous learning. Provides administrative, logistical, and systems support; facilitating workshops and college-wide learning events; and supporting effective delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement of employees’ professional development.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Implements and supports the learning & development strategy by coordinating the day-to-day operations of the college’s learning and development initiatives, ensuring alignment with college’s priorities, workforce needs, and strategic goals.
2. Executes and facilitates workshops, orientations, large college-wide events (such as the annual Convocation and Learning Day), and other sessions, delivered both in person and through virtual platforms to ensure engagement and impactful learning experiences.
3. Serves as the primary point of contact for technical support, stakeholder user access, and contacting vendor.
4. Coordinates logistics for learning and professional development initiatives, such as materials preparation and distribution, registration/enrollment, room scheduling, service requests, catering, and set up and breakdown of equipment and office furniture.
5. Assists with collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data on participation and the effectiveness of training and professional development initiatives and programs, and preparing reports to support assessment, decision-making, and continuous improvement.
6. Maintains learning-related data, including professional development database, course calendars, web pages, participant rosters, and compliance training records.
7. Assists with the onboarding process as new employees begin their professional development journey with the college, facilitating new hire orientation logistics and serving as a backup presenter when needed.
8. Researches, drafts, and contributes engaging learning content for monthly email newsletters and other communications that market learning, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
9. Provides administrative and budgetary support for learning initiatives by maintaining training inventories, tracking vendor expenses, submitting purchase requests, and assisting with budget monitoring.
10. Supports evaluation and assessment efforts by administering surveys, compiling feedback, and assisting with reporting on learning impact and engagement.
11. Performs other duties that may be required or assigned.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Business, Communications, Human Resources, or related field.
2. Three years of professional experience in event planning, public speaking, human resources, or customer relations.
OR
1. Associate’s degree from a regionally or national accredited institution in Business, Communications, Human Resources, or related field
2. Seven years of professional experience in event planning, public speaking, human resources, or customer relations.



DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience in facilitation, professional development, teaching, or training.
2. Experience with a learning platform, such as Skillsoft Percipio or similar system.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
2. Excellent skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to become proficient in videoconferencing applications, including Teams/Zoom.
3. Demonstrated ability to use a Human Resources Information System (HRIS), such as Oracle PeopleSoft.
4. Demonstrated skills with a Learning Management System (e.g., Skillsoft, Cornerstone).
5. Demonstrated web page editing skills using content management system (CMS) functions.
6. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
8. Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced multi-priority environment.
9. Ability to treat confidential information with sensitivity.
10. Ability to use technology, including but not limited to PCs, videoconferencing equipment, LCD data/video projectors, and Smart Consoles.
11. Ability to successfully develop and manage relationships at all organizational levels.
12. Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
13. Excellent planning and organizational skills showing a high level of accuracy and ability to anticipate and meet needs.
14. Demonstrated critical thinking, proactive problem-solving, and research skills.
15. Ability to gather, read, analyze, and interpret information and numerical data and present this type of information logically to others in various formats.
16. Demonstrated ability to rapidly adapt to changes in technology, industry standards, and work processes.
17. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
1. Works in an office environment.
2. May occasionally be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
3. May be required to travel between campuses and other local destinations for training, meetings, and community events.
4. Requires the ability to push and pull office furniture and training materials; bend, stoop, kneel and reach on occasion; climb on stools or ladders; and ability to lift 25lbs unassisted.
