Title: Commons Associate – Sanitation (FT, FY)
Position Purpose:
This position is
responsible for following food safety and sanitation procedures as well as demonstrating positive relationships with individuals and groups
with varying backgrounds, perspectives, education and skills.
Job Duties:
- Performs dish
room tasks which include loading and unloading, scrime line, and cleaning of silver. - Performs janitorial tasks which include
cleaning bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, dusting, cleaning windows and mats, as well as recycling and trash room maintenance. - Ensures that proper sanitation and safety standards are being followed.
- Maintains the highest levels of customer service
practices at all times. - Ensures that sound environmental practices, composting, recycling, waste reduction are maintained.
- Promotes and values diversity and practices two-way communication.
- Attends monthly meetings for Dining, Conferences and Campus
Events. - Assists in other areas of the operation as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent desired.
- Serve Safe certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
Experience
Previous food service experience desired.
Skills and Knowledge
- Commitment to equity and inclusion, and serving the needs of a culturally and
educationally diverse community. - Strong commitment to customer service.
- Exemplary organizational and time management
skills are a must. - Ability to multitask.
- Ability to relate well to individuals with varying backgrounds, education and
skills. - Understands and thrives in a high volume food service environment.
