This position is open until filled.
The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for managing and administering employee benefits, PERS and leave programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This position will also ensure accurate entry of payroll and benefit information into the Banner system.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Oversee and maintain Banner Human Resources integrated computer system for position control, salary tables, employment processes and accuracy in compliance with pay practices, and report and letter generation.
- Complete timely Banner testing for updates/modifications as requested by the IT department.
- Review, enter, update and remove all benefit deductions, accruals, pay information, and faculty agreements in the Banner system as appropriate.
- Work closely with Payroll Manager to ensure all Human Resources information is accurate and correctly entered in Banner.
- Communicate information to employees regarding insurance coverage eligibility, PERS membership and retirement process, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, 403(b) and 457(b) accounts, and other benefits, and ensure accurate enrollment in such programs. Work with appropriate vendor representatives as necessary.
- Enroll and terminate coverage for employees in a timely manner.
- Maintain online benefit enrollment system of the Oregon Educators Benefit Board (OEBB).
- Oversee annual Open Enrollment period to ensure all eligible employees have continuous coverage.
- Plan and schedule Benefit Fair, if needed, during annual Open Enrollment period.
- Ensure compliance with requirements of Health Care Reform and the Affordable Care Act (Exchange Notices, hours tracking, and reporting).
- Reconcile benefits bills with deductions registers on a monthly basis. Correct any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- PERS administration, including uploading monthly files, enrollment, termination, and setup in Banner.
- Research, analyze data, and prepare reports for special projects, including salary surveys, OEA requests, annual IPEDS, VETS100 reports, and others.
- Other essential duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- AA or AS degree in business administration or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of administrative experience required. Human Resources experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Windows required.
