Summer Camp Counselor – PT Temp/Casual

BASIC PURPOSE

**This position requires the PA State Police, PA Child Abuse Clearance, and the FBI Clearance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the classroom management of 12-15 campers in the kitchen (focusing on the safety and support of the campers) and on break times and lunchtime.
• Assist young students with recipes, knife skills, following directions, etc. You will be working directly with the 11-14-year-old campers- some may not have any culinary skills yet.
• Support preparation of materials and ingredients for classes, keeping workspaces clean and organized throughout the day assisting with dishes, wiping tables, etc.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule of up to 25 hours a week between July 7-August 21- hours between 8am-4pm.
• Must love working with children and youth (you will be fully engaging with children and youth all day) and have a great attitude for hospitality and food services
• Good listener, able to follow directions from the lead chef and support others
• Basic mathematics and kitchen safety
• The ability to work within a team setting, as well as strong communication skills
• Self-motivated and possess strong organizational skills
