The Part Time Barista at Marymount University provides outstanding customer service in a
fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role involves expertly preparing and serving a variety of coffee, espresso drinks, and food
items to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and food service, along with a
commitment to creating a welcoming and positive campus experience for everyone.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service:
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring their needs are met promptly. Handle customer inquiries, take
orders, and recommend menu items. - Coffee Preparation: Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks (lattes, cappuccinos,
etc.), brewed coffee, teas, and other beverages according to standardized recipes. - Food Service: Serve a variety of pre-prepared
or made-to-order food items such as sandwiches, pastries, salads, and snacks. Maintain a clean and organized food station. - Cash
Handling: Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately, including processing credit/debit cards and cash payments. Maintain
proper cash drawer balance. - Health & Safety: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling,
storage, and cleaning procedures to ensure a safe environment for both employees and customers. - Inventory Management: Assist in
stocking supplies and ingredients, and help monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock for daily operations. - Cleaning and
Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, seating areas, and equipment. Regularly clean coffee machines, utensils,
and service areas to meet health standards. - Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to provide seamless service,
communicate effectively, and ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous barista or food service
experience is preferred, but not required. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a
fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently. - Passion for coffee and food service, with a focus on quality and
customer satisfaction. - Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
- Knowledge of food safety standards
and practices. - Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
