Overview
The College of Liberal Arts is hiring a part-time Administrative Support Specialist to provide a wide range of high-level administrative and technical support to an academic-related department/unit, with significant emphasis on more complex administrative responsibilities. This position will require approximately 25 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Advises others on processes, procedures, and services; resolves policy related or procedural problems.
- Gathers information and prepares various reports and correspondence; researches and resolves issues. Assists front office in taking patient information, scheduling clinical appointments, verifying insurance benefits, and relaying that benefit information to the clients of the AUSHC to prepare them for cost of services.
- Performs specialized technical duties and coordinates processes. Verification of insurance to include precertification, requesting necessary referrals, sometimes requesting additional services/sessions, and assisting clients with the patient portal.
- Reviews and verifies documentation for completeness and compliance with policies and procedures. Verifies client information and confirms paperwork has been completed in patient portal.
- Participates and/or assists in special activities such as orientations, consultations, and events.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties, such as: typing & correspondence, filing/folders, recordkeeping/compilation/data entry, preparation/processing forms, calendars and scheduling, mail distribution and outgoing mailings, telephones and greeting, supplies/inventory, limited supervision of clerical or student work, other support duties of similar difficulty.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4 years of experience in administrative support services
