Assistant/Associate Professor of Education- Special Education Focus

Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education, with preference given to candidates with expertise in Special Education.
Preference will also be given to candidates with experience in PreK–12 settings and successful teaching of preservice teachers.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate education courses, advising students, working with professional partners, supervising
clinical experiences including embedded field experiences and student teaching, and participating in the professional development of future
educators.
Grove City College’s Department of Education houses a wide array of distinct Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE)
approved teacher preparation programs spanning PreK–12 and education related areas of study. The program enrolls over 265 undergraduate
students and post-baccalaureate candidates. The department has been recognized for their strong professional development school model for
teacher preparation with an emphasis on extensive fieldwork throughout the freshman–senior experience. The department also offers a graduate
program leading to Reading Specialist certification at the master’s level, grounded in the science of reading and designed to prepare
literacy leaders in schools and districts. The department houses a variety of campus resources including a preschool, curriculum library,
and specialized career development services for education majors. Faculty members typically carry a teaching load of 23 to 25 contact hours
per academic year.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong potential for excellence in classroom teaching and a commitment to educating
highly motivated students within the context of Grove City College’s historic Christian perspective. The Education Department seeks
dedicated professors who can demonstrate how they integrate their Christian faith into their practice to prepare our students for teaching
positions in public, Christian, classical, and international school settings. Salary commensurate with qualifications.
