The University of Missouri invites applications for the position of Senior Retail Sales Manager in
the Division of Animal Sciences, an academic unit of the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources. We are seeking a qualified
candidate to manage the retail business operation in the new Michael L. Parsons Meat Science Education and Training Laboratory.
The
selected individual will manage the retail sales business including inventory management, partner relations, and marketing operations. Other
responsibilities will include training and managing student employees, plant and employee scheduling, customer service, building management
and event coordination.
The individual will collaborate with current meat science faculty and programs at the University of Missouri,
including but not limited to workforce development, Mizzou Meat Judging Team, the Missouri Association of Meat Processors extension program,
and the Show-Me Meat Education and Training programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage retail inventory of the
Mizzou Meat Market. Including sourcing non-meat products, updating inventory control systems and corresponding with meat operations
manager. - Manage sales floor student employees including working with staff and faculty to create and assign tasks for student
workers and provide oversight of their duties. - Coordinate student employees, building, and event schedules.
- Manage point of
sale hardware/software, including Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance; interact with Point of Sale (POS) vendor, training users; daily
transactions and account reconciliation. - Execute print and digital marketing campaigns and manage social media accounts for the
Mizzou Meat Market per University Communications, social media, and branding guidelines. - Manage sales floor activity including
customer questions and sales counter coverage when necessary. - As with all positions, involvement with other duties and
responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of the University of Missouri.
Shift
8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Monday – Friday
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent
combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is
necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, agribusiness, or related field.

years prior experience in agribusiness management in meat science, animal science, or food science
Hazard Analysis Critical Control
Point (HACCP) certified, although preferred, is not necessary for this role.
Meat processing experience
Computer skills
relating to barcoded inventory systems
Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,915.20- $60,000.00 annually.
Salary is determined
by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well
as organizational requirements.
