Position
Summary:


Hiring Salary Range: $16.97 to $18.66 per hour depending on qualifications.



This position requires
precise handling of cash, credit, and debit transactions; issuing receipts; assisting students with questions regarding their accounts; and
maintaining well-organized financial records. Receives, counts, and balances payments received from students, scholarships, or other
third-party billings. Assists with petty cash for all departments on assigned campus. Opens and closes office and may provide backup to
supervisor during absences


Job Duties:

  • Receiving and verifying payments: Processing tuition, fees,
    scholarships and other payments from students.
  • Processing transactions: Accurately recording all payments in the college’s
    accounting system.
  • Issuing receipts: Providing receipts to students for all payments made.
  • Reconciliation
    and Reporting
    : Ensuring the cash drawer is properly managed and reconciled at the end of the day, and prepares bank deposit tickets
  • Customer Service: The cashier provides customer service by responding to inquiries from students, parents and other
    constituents. They maintain professional demeanor and communicate college financial policies and procedures.
  • Resolving issues:
    Addressing student concerns regarding their accounts to resolve payment related issues and refunds.
  • Collaboration:
    Works closely with other departments, such as the Accounts Receivable, Financial Aid, to ensure that all financial transactions are
    accurate and up to date. These responsibilities highlight the importance of the cahier’s role in maintaining the financial health of the
    institution and ensuring that students receive the services they are entitled to.
  • Assisting with accounting tasks:
    Assisting with other accounting tasks as required, such as verifying student refunds, posting ach payments. Helping students understand
    and utilize payment plans. Performs other similar and related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

The
position requires at least a High school Diploma or GED.


Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent customer service,
strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to learn and navigate various software applications.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks proactively. Strong multitasking skills and comfort working in a fast-paced
environment.
