The Department of Pediatrics employs nearly 1,000 faculty and staff who work alongside employees of Riley Hospital for Children and students of Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) to make Riley Children’s Health Indiana’s largest and most skilled pediatric system. Job Summary

The Field Engagement Program Manager serves as a regional program leader for the statewide Automotive Safety Program (ASP), providing strategic oversight, subject-matter expertise, and independent decision-making to advance field operations across Indiana. The role develops and implements regional engagement strategies, identifies operational challenges, and leads solutions that strengthen program consistency, quality, and compliance with grant requirements. The manager builds and maintains high-level partnerships with child passenger safety technicians (CPST), instructors, inspection stations, and community organizations, while overseeing regional data integrity, contributing analytical insights for reporting, and leading outreach, training coordination, and field-based initiatives that expand program reach and impact.



Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Leads regional program operations by developing field engagement strategies, identifying operational challenges, and implementing solutions that strengthen statewide consistency and program effectiveness.
  • Oversees regional data integrity and analyzes program data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Designs and executes regional outreach strategies to expand CPST participation, strengthens community partnerships, and increases program visibility.
  • Plans and oversees regional implementation of CPST courses, renewal courses, school bus trainings, and refresher opportunities.
  • Provides leadership and oversight for regional inspection station operations by ensuring compliance with program standards, maintaining accurate agreements and demographic data, monitoring car seat distribution and supply needs, and collaborating with the Inspection Station Program Manager to evaluate station performance and implement improvements.

General Responsibilities


  • Collaborates with team members to develop program objectives and create policies to meet them.
  • Coordinates program operation with all collaborative units.
  • Monitors progress and maintains all necessary data bases.
  • Actively recruits program participants and researches new venues and methods of recruitment.
  • May provide guidance to support and temporary staff and coordinates workflow for the program.
  • Researches available grants and assists creating funding proposals that further advance support of the program.
  • Writes grant reports.
  • Administers program budgets.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
