UC
Riverside’s Transportation & Parking Services is recruiting for a Transportation Demand Management Assistant. The full salary range for the
Transportation Demand Management Assistant is $29.35 – $42.06 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $34.46
per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other
business and organizational needs. Under general direction, provides administrative, analytical, programmatic, and outreach support for
Transportation Demand Management programs and services in support of campus mobility, sustainability, and commuter reduction goals.
Coordinates and supports initiatives designed to increase participation in alternative transportation options, reduce dependence on
single-occupant vehicles, and promote public transit, active transportation, and other sustainable commuting practices. Serves as a liaison
with campus departments, students, employees, community agencies, and external partners, and supports departmental planning, communications,
reporting, and operational improvement efforts. Required to hold valid driver’s license, have a driving record that is in accordance with
local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program. Applicants must have current work authorization
when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a
University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may
be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional
requirements.


Requirements


Experience

  • 5 years of progressively responsible
    administrative, program coordination, outreach, communications, customer service, or a combination of education and related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience collecting, organizing, auditing, verifying, tracking, and reporting data using spreadsheets, databases,
    web applications, and related systems.
  • Experience supporting transportation, mobility, sustainability, commuter, parking, or public
    service programs in a university, government, or similarly complex environment.

communicate effectively in writing and verbally with students, staff, faculty, vendors, community members, and external agencies Proficiency

sound judgment, initiative, and attention to detail. Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor events and perform related event support
duties.

Under general

Key Responsibilities


  • Transit, Commuter Education, and Program Development: Independently develops,
    coordinates, implements, and evaluates transit, commuter education, and related Transportation Demand Management initiatives designed to
    increase awareness, participation, and use of alternative transportation options. Plans and leads educational activities, outreach efforts,
    and engagement strategies that promote public transit, multimodal transportation, and sustainable commuting practices. Designs and conducts
    travel training sessions for individuals and groups; provides hands-on guidance related to route planning, fare structures, transit
    schedules, maps, and mobility resources; and evaluates participant feedback, usage trends, and program outcomes to recommend and implement
    service, communication, and program improvements. Serves as a departmental representative with campus and community partners to support
    transit advocacy, commuter education, and mobility-focused program development.

  • Outreach, Marketing, and Communications:
    Develops and implements outreach and communication strategies to increase awareness, understanding, and participation in Transportation
    Demand Management programs and services. Creates, drafts, updates, and distributes informational and promotional materials, including
    website content, newsletters, correspondence, social media messaging, videos, presentations, and other communications. Plans, hosts,
    coordinates, and participates in outreach events, orientations, workshops, tabling activities, and campus or community events throughout the
    year. Represents the department in outreach settings and helps ensure that communications and promotional efforts support departmental and
    campus mobility goals.

  • Transportation Demand Management Program Administration and Coordination: Provides administrative and
    program support for Transportation Demand Management programs and services. Assists with coordinating day-to-day program activities,
    maintaining records, files, databases, and reporting systems, and preparing correspondence, summaries, and other program documentation.
    Responds to inquiries from campus departments, students, employees, and external entities regarding alternative transportation programs,
    sustainable mobility services, transit resources, and related procedures; coordinates and schedules meetings; and handles confidential and
    sensitive matters appropriately. Assists with data entry, collection, auditing, verification, and records management for assigned
    Transportation Demand Management programs, and provides administrative support to related departmental functions and special projects as
    needed.

  • Active Transportation and Micro Mobility Program Support: Coordinates and supports active transportation and micro
    mobility programs, services, and improvement efforts, including bicycle and scooter registration, outreach, education, and safety promotion.
    Serves as a departmental contact for registration inquiries and related participant communication; coordinates outreach and registration
    events; maintains accurate records and databases; supports education and advocacy efforts; assists with follow-up on bicycle and micro
    mobility infrastructure projects; coordinates information gathering for facility and inventory updates; and supports surveys and assessments
    related to active transportation use and needs.

  • Operational Support for Transportation & Parking Services and Fleet Services:
    Provides operational support for Transportation & Parking Services and Fleet Services which may include some of the following functions:
    participates in the development and implementation of the department’s mission, goals, and strategic planning; assists in the review of
    operations and services to identify operational efficiencies and integrate “best practices”; coordinates and/or participates in special
    projects and assignments, the scope of which may extend beyond day-to-day operations.
