Under the supervision of the Associate Dean in the General Education
Pathway, assists in the learning process by providing general support in a classroom setting and lab and provides tutoring and case
management support to individuals or small groups. Work is generally diversified based on the needs of the students. Judgment and analysis
are required in making decisions within established procedures. Supervision received is general in nature. Daily responsibilities are
completed independently using established policies and general objectives with occasional supervisory contact for policy clarification or
interpretation.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for the maintenance of the
spaces assigned; establishes and enforces regulations related to the equipment used; manages inventory of supplies and equipment; creates
purchase orders for needed equipment and supplies while working with Faculty and Dean to identify needed inventory and
supplies - Supports specific departments in providing smooth delivery of semester startup packets and instructional materials to
improve service and efficiency for students and faculty. - Works closely with student services to understand possible learning needs
and helps create adaptive materials in conjunction with the instructor - Provides alternative support for specific academic skills,
consistent with classroom instruction and in conjunction with Faculty instruction if needed - Encourages learning and study skill
behaviors that help students to accomplish their academic goals - Assists with makeup testing and proctoring services for MATC
students - Updates inventory and other data; prepares relevant reports
- Acts as a liaison between students and
faculty - Provides support for specialized software as related to the center’s specialty.
- Participates in related in-service
training, workshops, divisional meetings, and other educational activities as required. - Performs other related duties as required
for the efficient operations of the division.
Qualifications
Compliance with all state, federal, and
accreditation standards/requirements, as well as all MATC policies and procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate degree or higher in a comparable
field
Experience: At least two (2) years of comparable Educational Assistant experience, working
specifically with ELL/ESL population.
Preferred Education and Experience in addition to the minimums listed
above:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in related fields and with at least three (3) or more years of comparable Educational
Assistant experience, working specifically with ELL/ESL population.

Supplemental
Information
Start Date: This position supports the Community Education Division and is available to
start in July 2026 when the grant renews. This is an ELL Leadership Grant Funded positions with funding for the
FY26/27.
Hours/Location: This position is a full-time position and works 100% IN PERSON, 38.75 hours per work week year round and primarily
based out of our Oak Creek campus location with the ability to flex to other locations if needed occasionally. The hours would be
8am to 4:30pm on some days and 9:30am to 6pm on others. During busy registration seasons like December and April we may also have associates
work 11am to 8pm to help accommodate the PM students. Employees will conduct all work hours in the State of Wisconsin,
performing work outside the state is strictly prohibited.
Note: If funding is renewed on
July 1st, 2026 for FY26/27, it would then become fully benefit eligible on August 1, 2026.
Compensation: Hourly rates are listed up to the midpoint of the range and placement is determined based on years of
experience, internal salary equity, and a review of the applicant’s employment and educational background as listed on the job
application.
