Job Duties

Under the guidance of Associate Vice President of Human
Resources and applicable governance policies of the Commonwealth of Virginia and Board of Supervisors of the Virginia State University, the
Office of Human Resources, works to lead and ensure competitive and fair compensation pay practices for the University, to attract, develop
and retain top talent at Virginia State University. This position will provide human resources assistance to a designated college or
academic department/business unit. HR Liaison’s will build partnerships with units to create value-added HR services, which address the
unique operational needs, mission, and direction of their units. This position is considered the first point of contact to provide resources
for all employees; in the units they represent. Overall oversight is provided to the HR Liaisons by Central Office of Human
Resources.

Abilities and/or Competencies required to successfully perform the work:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and follow through.
* Ability to function
well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
*
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Additional Considerations



PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience working in a statewide human resources environment is preferred.
* Higher education human resources
experience is preferred.
* Experience with Cardinal financial and HR systems is preferred.
* Experience using Banner and ServiceNow
platforms is preferred.
* HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred.
* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel is
preferred.
