Reporting department issues more than 100,000 payments each year to approximately 15,000 faculty, staff, and student employees within the
university.
The Payroll Department at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a part-time Payroll Practitioner I
(Temp).

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
This part-time temporary position will assist with processing payroll
per established guidelines in a timely manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Interprets monitors and analyzes
information as it relates to payroll processing. - Reviews data before and after the actual payroll process.
- Process/update
manager self-service transactions (tax and direct deposit updates). - Process/analyze payroll queries for updates to FICA taxes,
students with SUI, Pre-sheet Audit. - Review timesheets in OneUSG Connect for exceptions (missed punches, long
intervals) - Enter pay entries in automated on-line entry panel each payroll cycle.
- Set up additional pay panels in OneUSG for
student leader payments. - Communicate with employees and departments regarding pay and other customer concerns or complaints to
resolve issues. - Perform other payroll related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
and two years of customer service, payroll, human resources or clerical experience; or a combination of education and related
experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous experience associated with higher education / academic office
environment. - Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication
skills. - Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills and
attention to detail. - Able to multi-task, a self-starter, quick learner with an awareness to meet deadlines.

Shift: 8:30am – 5:15pm / Part-time
Salary: $18.00/hour
