Job Summary/Basic Function


Reporting to the Vice President Business & Finance. Responsible for managing, directing, and overseeing the university’s financial and administrative functions, including accounting services, cashiering operations, cash management, loans and receivable collections, financial reporting, auxiliary accounting, plant fund and equipment accounting, capital construction budgeting, athletic budgeting and accounting, ticket office operations, and Foundation accounting and financial reporting. Coordinates and prepares financial information, analyses, and reports for presentation to the MTSU Board of Trustees, the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, and the Tennessee General Assembly, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with applicable requirements. Approves contracts in the absence of the Vice President and performs related duties, special projects, and assignments as required.

Required Education


Bachelor’s in Higher Education Administration, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a directly related field required.

Required Related Experience


Eight years of successful employment serving in a senior management position with three years at upper management level required.

Desirable Related Experience


CPA strongly preferred
