moderate direction of a supervisor, performs general cleaning duties within dormitories, offices and other public facilities
areas.

Duties and
Responsibilities


  • Pick up and dispose of trash, to include the proper handling of recyclable materials.
  • Dusts,
    sweeps, and/or dry mops.
  • Wet mops and/or spot mops.
  • Operates walk-behind or ride-on floor machine, wet vac, & carpet
    extractor.
  • Cleans glass: – All inside areas that can be safely reached. All entrance glass, including doors, inside and out.
  • Sanitizes washrooms, showers, and toilet facilities (dormitories only).
  • Fills all dispensers in restrooms.
  • Vacuums and
    cleans carpets and walk-off mats.
  • Washes walls, woodwork, light fixtures, inside of windows, and other glass.
  • Removes snow
    and ice and cleans and/or picks up debris, such as leaves and paper, around entrances and fire exits (including fire escapes [dormitories
    only]) from the steps, and from the steps and walkways (generally distanced of ten feet or less) leading to buildings.
  • Reports to
    immediate supervisor or to work control damage and/or malfunction of equipment observed within assigned areas.
  • Performs other
    duties assigned within the normal scope of the department’s responsibilities and the individual’s capabilities.

Minimum
Qualifications



H.S. Diploma or equivalent



Ability to follow both written and oral directions. Ability to interact
with customers(students, faculty, administration), co-workers and supervisors in a positive and helpful manner. Must be able to climb
ladders, to bend and reach, and to lift(up to 60 lbs.)

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours


  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
