Job Description

The University of
Missouri seeks a dynamic HR Recruitment Specialist to support the Office of Human Resources and more broadly, the University’s efforts to
develop and deliver recruitment services for the MU campus. The successful candidate will foster and maintain positive relationships with
hiring managers, candidates and the community and will drive accountability for the recruitment processes and procedures.

This
position will focus on supporting the recruitment of various departmental vacancies in partnership with dedicated HR Recruitment Consultants
(Recruiters) and HR Partners.


Key Responsibilities include:

Staff Recruitment Specialist
Responsibilities


  • Assisting department users with creating accurate job posting information on the Human Resources
    applicant portal and website.
  • Establishes processes to ensure consistency, timeliness, documentation, and communication of reference
    check protocols.
  • Initiates reference checks using approved vendor.
  • Review feedback report in preparation for discussion with
    the hiring supervisor.
  • Consulting with assigned colleges, schools and divisions (CDSs) to set up effective candidate screening of
    applications and employment requisitions.
  • Developing positive working relationships with assigned CSDs in partnership with the
    Recruiters.
  • Consulting with job applicants to clarify the application process, review application/resume materials and other
    required forms, and provide advice on job search strategies at the University of Missouri to include effective application
    materials.
  • Marketing the university through individual applicant interactions, and various candidate pipelining
    efforts.
  • Preparing, reviewing and approving salary offers for selected candidates.
  • In partnership with a cross-functional
    team, process and perform duties related to the hiring and onboarding of new employees including preparing offers, analyzing compensation
    data, checking references, uploading documentation into PeopleSoft HRIS software, assisting employees with the completion of onboarding
    steps.
  • Developing and managing relationships with UM System Staff, search partners, vendors, peer institutions and appropriate
    associations and consortiums.
  • Communicating and providing backup to the other HR professionals on the team.
  • Identifies
    background checks needed using knowledge of eRecruit, queries, and collaborations with recruiters, hiring supervisors, and other key
    stakeholders.
  • Performs records review such as university history, performance evaluations, pending or previous investigations, and
    personnel file reviews.
  • Investigates concerns further, including consulting with HR Partners and/or other applicable university
    leaders when necessary.
  • Identifies and communicates concerns while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Uses good judgment to
    identify candidate viability, concerns, and ineligibility for hire.
  • Communicate outcomes with hiring supervisors and key
    stakeholders, determine eligibility for hire/rehire to improve the selection of quality hires, and mitigate liability and
    risk.
  • Communicates with finalists regarding university policy and process.
  • Compiling employment, classification,
    compensation, and training data necessary to prepare reports.
  • Supporting the review and processing of Unpaid Appointments as
    needed.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of new human resource related programs.

Advisory
Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Reviews content of recruitment plan prior to posting, and if necessary, works with departments
    to author and elevate plans specific to academic disciplines and units
  • Provides advice and/or expertise related to employment laws,
    Collected Rules and Regulations (CRRs) and University policies and procedures associated with academic recruitment.
  • Co-lead Hiring
    Manager training sessions with Recruit Specialist Team.
  • Provide training to hiring managers regarding steps within the recruitment
    process (recruitment plan, dispositioning, candidate pool approvals, uploading documentation)
  • Assists with offer letter template
    changes, business process updates, and creation of guides and tutorials.


The successful candidate will be detail oriented with
exceptional organizational and time management skills. Candidates must demonstrate customer service, collaboration, confidentiality,
integrity and a commitment to the university’s values in their activities.
Shift



Monday – Friday, 8am –
5pm

Minimum Qualifications


A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and
at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred
Qualifications


2-3 years Human Resources support experiences preferable in a recruitment setting

Experience with
Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel


Familiarity with PeopleSoft

Self-starter who can prioritize multiple work streams
and manage time efficiently


Anticipated Hiring Range



Salary Range: $24.00 – $27.00 per hour
