The PantherDining Hall at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Custodian I. This position
promotes sustainability within Dining operations including implementation and maintenance of recycling procedures.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
The Custodian I works with management to ensure continued compliance with
Green Seal initiatives. This position may be required to be cross-trained for another position and/or responsibility in order to provide
both back-up for a department as well as to supplement resources needed during certain times of the year.
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Maintains the appearance of offices, hallways, restrooms, and dining areas by performing
housekeeping duties, such as cleaning counters, equipment and furnishings, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and removing trash. - Wet
mops, scrubs, strips, restores, buffs, and waxes floors as needed. - Washes walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills, as well
as any additional detailed cleaning work according to schedule. - Handles emergency clean ups.
- Sets up chairs, tables and
other equipment for meetings and events as needed. - Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school
diploma or GED preferred. Six months experience working in an institutional, industrial or commercial setting preferred. Ability to lift
35-50 pounds.
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous custodial experience.
- Physical Requirements:
Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders. - Ability to work in all temperature
conditions. - Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
