Job Summary/Basic Function
The Stockroom
Clerk assists the Warehousing and Transportation (W/T) Manager in the total operation of the stock room and its related duties. The position
receives deliveries and checks for conformity to acceptable product quality standards and marks with current date. The position places
received goods into appropriate inventory location or operations as required; delivers inventoried goods to operations as directed; and
occasionally drives to local stores to purchase goods
Essential Functions:
- Check-in and inspect all
incoming deliveries (food and non-food) for quality, quantity, and acceptable condition (no damage or signs of improper holding); mark with
current date; log product or vehicle temperature for refrigerated and frozen goods; and rotate stock to follow first-in-first-out
standards. - Maintain cold and dry storage areas in a neat, clean, and sanitary fashion, following HACCP guidelines and department
standards. Keep storage locations organized to aid in finding or counting product; assist with monthly and/or weekly inventory
tally - Picks/pulls products and supplies needed by various dining services departments and locations and delivers.
- In the
absence of the W/T Manager, the position will calculate and place orders for food and supplies as directed. - Assemble and deliver
orders made by retail locations, to include composting bucket, floor mats, and daily cleaning supplies - Maintain vehicle fleet, to
include keeping gas tanks filled; arranging for regular maintenance; arranges for required inspections and stickers; arranges for license
plate renewal and installation; cleans vehicle interiors; wash vehicle exteriors the more frequent of weekly or as needed. Must have a valid
driver’s license. - Promotes positive relations within and outside of the department
Physical
Requirements:
- This position requires employee to frequently squat, kneel, navigate stairs, bend, twist, lift above waist and
shoulder. Employee must constantly walk, use right and left arms and legs. Must be able to lift up to 90 pounds. It also requires employee
to work in the walk-in refrigerator (38 F) and walk-in freezer (-20 F).
Other Requirements:
- Serv-Safe Certified or
obtain certification within 1 year of hire.
Hours:
- Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. with occasional weekend
hours
