Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Purchasing and

college mission Additionally, this role coordinates with college personnel and community partners regarding risk management plan and policy
development. The position exercises mature judgment in addressing a variety of work issues involving internal and external College and
interdepartmental relations. This position plans, research, organizes, and implements various programs and initiatives related to campus

Salary & Benefits:
- Anticipated Hiring Range: $55,608 –
$68,954/annual – depending on education and experience - Cafeteria Plan: In addition to the base compensation, benefits-eligible
employees receive an extra $6,720 per year to put toward benefit costs or to be used as additional take-home pay - Paid Holidays: 21
(including a full week off between Christmas and New Year’s Day and over Spring Break) - Vacation & Sick Leave: Approximately 17 paid

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive
enterprise risk management and workplace safety compliance program for the College. - Lead compliance with Occupational Safety and
Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and applicable workplace safety standards. - Support public health guidance and best
practices aligned with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. - Ensure Safety Data Sheet (SDS) compliance,
including maintaining accessible SDS inventories, supporting chemical hazard communication, and coordinating with departments on proper
handling, storage, and training requirements. - Serve as primary liaison with insurance carriers and risk pools; coordinate renewals,
loss control activities, and claims management. - Review contracts, agreements, and events for risk exposure, including insurance
requirements, indemnification, and liability considerations. - Collaborate with insurance providers to ensure adequate coverage,
manage claims, and submit certificate of insurance requests. - Conduct regular risk assessments for facilities, projects, and
events. - Recommend and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
- Monitor compliance with risk management policies
and procedures. - Maintain risk registers and prepare reports for leadership on risk exposure and mitigation progress.
- Provide
guidance to departments on risk-related issues and best practices. - Develop, review, and update safety and risk management policies
and procedures in collaboration with the Director, to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. - Develop,
implement, and communicate safe work standards and procedures for employees and contractors. - Prepare and analyze damage assessments
following disasters or emergencies. - Help coordinate emergency response efforts and serve in a designated role within the College’s
incident command structure. - May serve as a liaison between college administration and external agencies, such as fire authorities,
emergency responders, and insurance representatives. - In collaboration with Security personnel, analyze incident and claims data to
identify trends and recommend proactive risk reduction strategies. - Conduct regular safety observations and audits of all
College-sanctioned activities based on degree of risk. - Conduct or oversee incident workers compensation investigations and recommend
corrective actions to prevent recurrence. - Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across operational, financial, and safety
domains. - Prepare reports for executive leadership and governing bodies as needed.
- Attend safety walks and inspections before
and during each project to analyze safety risks. - Provide Human Resources with support in educating employees on safe operations and
expectations. - Deliver specialized risk management training as requested.
- Member of the safety committee.
- Perform
other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties:
- Timely respond to inquiries and correspondence in person, by
phone, and through electronic communication; manage messages and ensure timely follow-up. - Maintain calendars for projects and ensure
deadlines are met. - Research and prepare reports and presentations.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues and external
partners.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Ability
to work collaboratively with all College constituents and external groups. - Experience in managing multiple projects and
deadlines. - Knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard communication standards, SDS management, CDC public health guidance, insurance
principles, and risk mitigation strategies. - Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and mitigation planning.
- Ability to
develop strong working relationships and communicate clearly and concisely. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint. - Ability to work effectively with diverse academic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
Minimum
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Risk Management,
Public Safety Administration, Industrial Hygiene, or a closely related field. Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in
workplace safety, health and safety compliance, risk management, insurance/loss control, or regulatory compliance within a public sector,
higher education, healthcare, or multi-site organizational environment. Any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to
successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be considered.

- CSP (Certified Safety
Professional) from Board of Certified Safety Professionals
