Posting Description


Technical Instructor, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), to support hands-on learning in MIT’s
largest academic department, serving more than 2,400 undergraduate and graduate students; guide students with minimal supervision in
designing and building course-related projects using rapid prototyping equipment and electronics-focused tools; train students on the safe
operation of lab equipment; foster a culture of safety and innovation; and support an undergraduate teaching laboratory that serves hundreds
of students each semester; responsible for working in the EECS Departmental Teaching Lab (DTL) during Sunday and weekday evening hours
(Monday-Thursday), providing technical expertise and instructional support.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Associate degree in a
technical field and at least five years of relevant hands-on experience in an educational, laboratory, or industrial environment, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience; demonstrated enthusiasm for mentoring and teaching undergraduate students in one-on-one
and small-group settings; solid technical expertise in electronics design and fabrication, CAD/ECAD, embedded systems, machining, mechanical
assemblies, rapid prototyping, and makerspace or facility operations; ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, navigate
complex instructional and personnel situations with professionalism; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability
to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff.


Must be available to work Sundays and evening hours
(Monday-Thursday).

This is a full-time, on-campus position based in the EECS Departmental Teaching Laboratory (DTL) Engineering
Design Studio.
