Job Description:
Siena University is seeking
applicants for a Chief Nurse Administrator (CNA). This position
provides effective leadership to the Baldwin Nursing Programs at Siena
University in achieving its mission, goals, and expected program
outcomes. The CNA is responsible for academic and administrative functions
of the programs including curricular coordination, assessment,
partnerships with educational and clinical partners, resource management, and
recruitment support. This position serves as the official
liaison between the University and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
(CCNE), and ensures programs remain aligned with CCNE
Standards for Accreditation, AACN Essentials, and the New York State Education
Department’s professional requirements.
Main
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic vision for a young and growing
department looking to add new programs. -
Provide administrative leadership on matters of budget, supervision of professional staff,
partnership agreements, and resource
allocation. - Act as Siena’s liaison to CCNE, partner schools, and regional and national
professional nursing organizations. - Lead efforts related to accreditation, annual reporting, and assessment processes.

In collaboration with the Dean and/or the
Chair, provide leadership and mentorship to faculty on matters of management and development of
curriculum, faculty development and
evaluation, and hiring and supervision of full-time and adjunct faculty. - Work with students on
matters of academic standards and
progression, complaints, degree completion and partner school experience. - Support efforts
related recruitment, marketing, and
enrollment of nursing students.
Requirements:
The ideal
candidate must have:
- A
doctoral degree in nursing from a regionally accredited program and institution - A current
unencumbered RN license with the ability
to become a licensed nurse in the state of New York - Record of faculty achievement
commensurate with appointment to the rank of
Associate Professor - Demonstrated leadership experience as department chair, nursing
program administrator, or as a significant
contributor to institution-level committees or initiatives. - Commitment to the Caring
Science model and Siena’s Franciscan
Mission - Ability to successfully collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to identify, resolve, and
consult on a wide variety of administrative and personnel issues
Special consideration
will be given to those with:
- Knowledge of, or experience with, accreditation processes and standards set by the Commission on
Collegiate Nursing Education -
Experience with supervision of professional staff, budget oversight, or other supervisory leadership
functions - Experience with the
development, assessment, and oversight of nursing curriculum - A demonstrated record of
leading projects through to completion in a
timely manner
Additional Information:
Annual Salary
Range: $140,000 – 150,000
*The hiring
salary range above represents the University’s good faith estimate at the time of posting in
compliance with the Albany County Salary
Transparency Law.
