We are
searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and
responsibilities.



Job Summary:

Responsible for the planning and organizing of work of electrical journeymen in an
assigned trade, the development of material and labor estimates for proposed work, as well as the budget, inventories, procedures and
policies. Work is primarily evaluated for effective use of resources, accomplishment of assigned projects, and adherence to trade
standards.



Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Supervise the work
    performed by journeymen. Provide leadership and guidance in the efficient completion of assigned projects and PMs. Provide leadership in
    maintaining, installing, and checking existing and/or new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations in coordination with facility
    plant operations managers.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper staffing and monitoring the quality, promptness, and actions taken by
    journeymen. Responsible for generating a balanced and equitable work schedule.
  • Prepare and submit work documentation, including
    work order submission, changes to the system, and takeoffs for construction projects Supervise documentation prepared by assigned
    personnel.
  • Update and maintain electrical and special systems information and schematic drawings.
  • Responsible for
    reviewing existing electrical systems to determine the need for upgrading system(s) for energy efficiency and operation.
  • Install
    and maintain electrical systems including related equipment such as HVAC, boilers, controls, valves, VDs, elevators, etc.
  • Supervise
    for accuracy and efficient performance of all preventive maintenance tasks on electrical systems/equipment.
  • Respond to,
    troubleshoot, and correct building electrical systems. Perform on-call duties as required during regular shifts, after-hours, holidays, and
    weekends.
  • Respond to emergency calls during regular shifts, after hours, weekends, and holidays to correct or remediate the
    problem.
  • Actively participate and complete training, personal development, and continuing education.
  • Represent department
    management in the event of emergency situations.
  • Maintain compliance with national, state, and local codes.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all duties to maintain all standards in
    accordance with College policies, procedures, and core values.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Knowledge of
    occupational and safety hazards in trade and PPE and processes to prevent accidents
  • Basic knowledge and ability to install,
    operate, maintain, and install building systems and associated equipment
  • Basic understanding of other trades and ability to perform
    or assist in the completion of them
  • Thorough knowledge of the standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the
    assigned trade
  • Skilled in proper use of the tools, equipment, and devices used in the construction and maintenance trade
  • Ability to supervise task teams and monitor quality, team financial performance, and teams’ time usage
  • Ability to establish and
    maintain effective working relationships
  • Able to work and respond on weekends, holidays, and after hours

Physical
Demands, Working Conditions, and Physical Effort

Medium Work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of
force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically include talking,
hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, climbing and balancing,
plus pushing, pulling and lifting. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils,
extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting and intense noises, gases and workspace restrictions. In addition, incumbents may be subjected to
vibrations, chemicals and oils. Frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Majority of work performed outside
or with exposure to risk. Frequent physical effort required.

Requirements
High school diploma or GED and three (3) years
of experience as a licensed journeyman in the electrical trade required.


Licenses and Certifications
Master
Electrician license required.

Valid Texas Driver’s License* and insurability with the college’s insurance carrier.



*Individuals hired for this position may be required to drive a company vehicle. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be run in
conjunction with the background check during the contingent offer stage and annually/bi-annually for the duration of employment at Collin
College. Candidates who fail the original background/MVR report or subsequent MVR reports may not be hired and/or terminated based on the
results of the report.*
