This essential team member will perform a variety of administrative and secretarial duties in support of Department of Anesthesia faculty. Responsibilities include composing correspondence, maintaining records, processing personnel and financial documents, managing departmental projects and events, and providing information and administrative support while ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
Duties to include:
- Maintains and updates records on personnel, budgetary and purchasing transactions, and verifies and reconciles departmental statements. Tracks and monitors expenditures, notifying management of status and/or concerns.
- Reviews inquiries, provides information and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas referring inquiries to appropriate persons as required.
- Initiates and processes standard forms and documents such as personnel action forms, purchase orders, vouchers, and invoices.
- Organizes activities and/or events for department such as scheduling room, ordering food, sending invitations, preparing agenda, etc. according to pre-determined guidelines or standards.
- Assigns, coordinates and reviews the work of other secretarial/clerical personnel for conformance to established guidelines.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post-high school clerical training equivalent to two years of full-time employment, including experience with word processing.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a college/university and/or healthcare setting secretarial support role (1-3 years) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the ePro, ProTrav, Epic, APR, and QGenda systems.
- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.
