Bard College seeks an Administrative
Assistant
to join the Admission department. The primary role of the Administrative Assistant is to support the Director of
Admission with a variety of office tasks and administrative functions, while also helping the Associate Directors of International Admission
with in-office assistance.



About Bard:
Bard College’s main campus is in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y., with 1,900
undergraduate students; the College also includes multiple graduate programs. The 1,000-acre campus sits along the Hudson River and offers
the Fisher Performing Arts Center, and Hessel Museum of Art, and is the home of the Bard Prison Initiative, the largest
college-degree-granting prison education program in the U.S. The Bard Network also includes several Bard High School Early Colleges across
the country as well as international campuses and partnerships. Bard College is a private institution working in the public interest. Bard
faculty and staff lead their students by example, building upon the existing network of boundary-breaking programs focused on rethinking who
can and should be included in a liberal arts education.



Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of
    Admission as needed, along with the organization, office, and administration functions of the Office of Undergraduate Admission
  • Distribute and manage the Admission inbox daily
  • Scan, file, and upload physical documents that arrive through the mail
  • Fulfill secondary and high school requests for admission materials
  • Answer the office phone and direct callers to the
    appropriate extension and answer questions when appropriate
  • Distribute and open mail when applicable
  • Execute impeccable
    customer service when working with visitors in person, on the phone, and over email
  • Manage the English Proficiency Test waiver form
    for international applicants
  • Manage the International Student mailbox, and answer inquiries when appropriate
  • Assist with
    other office and support duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
    preferred
  • Experience in an office setting
  • Excellent organization skills and exemplary attention to detail
  • Working
    knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly, including those related to new technology
  • Professional presentation and demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and in a group
  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to lift boxes and items of at least 40 lbs
  • Possession of a valid
    driver’s license
  • Ability to travel to and from work independently

Compensation:
$23-$25/hour


This salary range reflects the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the
position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and
organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external
equity.
