Join the Long Beach Community College District as a Senior Office Assistant, where you’ll perform a wide
variety of moderately complex clerical, office support, and records management duties in support of assigned departments and programs. In
this role, you will prepare and maintain correspondence, reports, records, and databases; provide front-line customer service to students,
staff, and the public; coordinate meetings, workshops, and events; manage files and office records; support scheduling activities; and
assist with departmental purchasing, supplies, and other administrative operations.



LBCC is recruiting for two (2)
Senior Office Assistant positions: one (1) in Counseling and one (1) in Fiscal Services. This position requires strong organizational
skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while providing accurate, responsive, and
professional support in a busy office environment.



Additionally, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent and two (2) years of increasingly responsible office administrative or secretarial
experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. If this describes your qualifications, we encourage you to apply and

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Location: Will support both campuses, but could be located at either the Liberal Arts Campus (LAC) or Trades, Technology, and
    Community Learning Campus (TTC)
  • Salary: Range 22, $4,291.05 – $5,268.05 Monthly
  • *Eligibility list: Will be valid for 12 months once approved or
    ratified by the Personnel Commission. We reserve the right to use the established eligibility list for vacancies (permanent and temporary)
    in this classification as well as related classifications
  • Advanced salary placement:
    Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a
    case-by-case basis; however, please note that requests are typically capped at Step 3.

Duties


GENERAL PURPOSE

Under general supervision, performs a wide
variety of moderately complex clerical, office support and records management duties in a District department; and performs related duties
as assigned.


DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Senior Office Assistants are responsible for independently
performing office clerical and administrative support functions ranging in difficulty from simple to moderately complex requiring general
knowledge of College and department or program policies and procedures. Assigned work requires the use of judgment in selecting appropriate
procedures and solving routine to non-routine problems based on knowledge gained through experience.



Senior
Office Assistant is distinguished from Administrative Assistant in that incumbents in the latter class provide complex, diverse and
confidential secretarial, administrative and support services to department directors, managers or other staff at or above that level and/or
perform a variety of difficult, specialized administrative and technical support functions that require a thorough knowledge of the
terminology, procedures and practices for their functional areas.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
May require a valid California driver’s license and the ability to maintain
