Public Safety Officer 11-7

SALARY RANGE: $22.00 per hour

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: Protect life and
property and able to respond to all types of emergencies on campus

Principal Responsibilities:

• Performs routine public
  safety duties in accordance with established guidelines.
• Patrol assigned areas to ensure personal, building and equipment security.
• Warn violators of rule infractions
• Enforce traffic and parking violations
• Enforce all applicable campus rules and
  regulations plus NY State Penal Law when appropriate
• Assist in emergency situations as needed

Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; college preferred.

Training, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Prior law
  enforcement and/or security experience preferred
• Must have good written, verbal communication and organizational skills
• General computer knowledge is required
• Valid NY State driver’s license and good driving record required
• Must have
  valid NY State security guard license and have completed both the 8 hour and 16 hour security guard training
• Must have in
  possession updated CPR/AED and First Aid Training
• Working Conditions: Must be able to demonstrate physical fitness
• Able to
  stand for a long period of time; Able to walk for long period of time; Climb stairs and being exposed to outdoor weather conditions
• Must be able to assist in lifting a person at least 150 pounds onto stretcher into ambulance.
• Able to work shifts as
  needed.
