SUMMARY
JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a journey-level position responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of athletic events and facility operations. Responsible for game management, event logistics, facility scheduling, and external event coordination in support of intercollegiate athletics and university-hosted events. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Program Director of Game and Event Operations



QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree is preferred.

One year of related experience is required. Experience in college athletics and event management and preparation is required.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Primary contact for all game officials, including sport specific scoring personnel.
  2. Coordinates in-game replay for all sports.
  3. Assists in coordinating the preparation of the overall calendar of athletic events in collaboration with coaching staff and operations personnel.
  4. Manages games for assigned sports, including event setup, execution, and breakdown.
  5. Assists with the staging and management of all home athletic events, including tournaments and special events.
  6. Assists with facility scheduling, event logistics, and daily operations of athletic venues.
  7. Assists with coordination of external events.
  8. Coordinates with visiting teams, officials, and event personnel to ensure smooth event operations
  9. Responsible for hiring, supervision, assigning and instruction of student workers and event staff during athletic events to include sport specific scoring personnel.
  10. Ensures dissemination of necessary game and event information to all relevant internal and external stakeholders in absence of Director of Facilities, Game Operations, and Event Management.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  1. May assist with special projects related to athletic facilities and event operations.
  2. Performs other related duties as assigned.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  2. Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, conference, NCAA, and UIL policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  3. Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.

  5. Organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality work products.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  7. Ability to set priorities and complete assignments on time.
  8. Ability to problem-solve a variety of operational situations.
  9. Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  10. Ability to work with confidential information.
  11. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as required by event schedules.
