Description

The Student-Athlete Academic Success Coordinator supports the academic success and achievement of Snow College student-athletes by coordinating academic support services, monitoring academic progress, and connecting students with campus resources. Working collaboratively with the Student-Athlete Academic Advisor, coaches, faculty, and campus partners, this position promotes accountability, early intervention, and academic excellence through consistent communication, coordination, and student support.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience working with students, student-athletes, or in an educational setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and coaches.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Commitment to championing student-athlete academic success and supporting the mission of Snow College.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in higher education, athletics, academic support, tutoring, or student success programs.
  • Knowledge of collegiate athletics and student-athlete academic support services.
  • Experience working with Banner, Argos, or similar student information systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, and experience using Banner, Argos, or similar student information systems.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage student-athletes while promoting accountability, academic achievement, and personal responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to manage confidential information.
  • Commitment to championing student-athlete success while providing exceptional customer service.

Major Responsibilities/Duties


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor student-athlete attendance, grades, and academic progress.
  • Identify student-athletes needing academic support and coordinate appropriate interventions.
  • Coordinate tutoring, study halls, academic labs, and other academic support services.
  • Coordinate and administer the Weekly Grade Check Program to monitor academic performance, communicate progress, and promote student accountability.
  • Maintain and update the Peak Performance Achievement Display to recognize and celebrate student-athlete academic accomplishments.
  • Maintain communication with coaches, faculty, the Student-Athlete Academic Advisor, and campus partners regarding student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of academic progress, referrals, and support services provided.
  • Prepare weekly academic progress reports for the Student-Athlete Academic Advisor and coaching staff.
  • Encourage effective study habits, time management, organization, and utilization of campus academic resources.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Information


Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with frequent interaction with students, coaches, faculty, and staff.
  • Occasional evening hours may be required to support study halls, academic programming, or student-athlete activities.
  • Regular use of computers, student information systems, and standard office equipment.
