St. Edward’s University is seeking an Associate Athletic Trainer / Instructor to join our Athletics
Department and Kinesiology faculty. Working alongside the Head Athletic Trainer, you will coordinate comprehensive medical care for
student-athletes-from injury prevention to rehabilitation-while teaching one course per term (3 contact hours) in the Department of
Kinesiology.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Master’s degree in Athletic Training,
Kinesiology, or a related field. - BOC Certified, Texas State Licensure (or eligibility), and CPR/AED/First Aid certified.
- 3-5 years of athletic training experience.
- Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules/best practices, EMR software proficiency, and
excellent communication. - Ability to work a flexible schedule (mornings, evenings, weekends, and team travel).
Preferred:
- 2+ years of collegiate athletic training experience.
- Previous teaching or
instructional experience. - Experience supervising athletic training students or interns.
Essential
Responsibilities Include:
- Supervise prevention, evaluation, treatment, short/long-term rehabilitation, and return-to-play
decisions for assigned teams. - Manage daily athletic training facility operations, coordinate pre-participation physicals, schedule
physician referrals, and oversee NCAA drug testing compliance. - Instruct 3 contact hours per term (fall and spring) in the
Kinesiology Department. - Supervise assistant athletic trainers and student interns, maintain confidential EMR records, and support
departmental administration. - Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics and/or the Assistant AD for Internal
Operations.
