JOB SUMMARY:
This position coordinates personnel management processes for the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine (PCVM) representing 60+ full time employees plus part time faculty and student staff. Acts as a liaison to Central HR and Payroll. Supports the PCVM in all stages of the Employee Life Cycle.



JOB DUTIES:
35% – Talent Management:
Works in collaboration with department managers for recruiting needs to include advertising, coordinating interviews if needed, submitting background checks request, and appropriate approvals. Enters recruiting information and validates new hire information in Workday. Coordinates department on-boarding activities for the PCVM new hires, assisting with integration to the department. Keep track of progress and assists with performance management submissions in Workday to maintain a high-level completion rate according to HR specified timeline for the PCVM. Responsible for tracking FTE, TLP, and temp positions. Provides input and executes. 15% – Training and Development:
Develop, coordinate, and facilitate department-specific training programs that support employee development, policy understanding, operational consistency, and organizational effectiveness. Create standardized onboarding resources and quarterly refresher training covering topics such as HR policies, timekeeping procedures, compliance requirements, customer service, employee expectations, leadership practices, and department initiatives. May help with special projects or duties as assigned. 20% – Leave and Timekeeping Liaison:
Maintains expert level and comprehensive knowledge of Workday. Oversees department communication with staff responsible for ensuring no missed punches and that all leave is entered accurately for the PCVM. Runs reports for payroll and HR as requested. Manages all student, temporary, and intermittent hiring processes for the PCVM. Maintains working knowledge of HR policy and procedures communicating changes to department managers as required. Practices continuous improvement for area. 30% – Employee Life Cycle:
Support all stages, including recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, and leave management, while ensuring compliance with applicable policies. Support new employee orientation and provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Maintain records necessary for fiscal, operational, or compliance reporting. Manage off-boarding processes such as system access removal and final documentation. Handle sensitive information appropriately and in accordance with confidentiality guidelines. Engage with staff to stay aware of challenges and opportunities, meet deadlines for planning and performance reviews, support professional development and training, and promote positive working relationships that contribute to an effective work environment.

Minimum Requirements:


A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required work experience.

Preferred Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in business, management, human services, or related field.

2-5 years of directly related HR experience.


Anticipated Salary Hiring Range:

$53,100 – $60,000


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises Student workers only

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fiscal Responsibilities: Fiscal responsibilities for the department’s budget, including but not limited to, financial planning and managing fund allocation

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:


Expected Salary Range
$39,300.00 – $53,100.00
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.



ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:
Normal Operations – Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
