Job Summary

The University Human Resource
Management
department is seeking a Talent Acquisition (TA) Specialist I to join a small but mighty Talent Acquisition Team.
This entry- level talent acquisition professional supports recruitment operations in a decentralized organization. Reporting to the
Associate Director of Talent Management, the TA Specialist supports HR Service teams and external job seekers in maintaining an efficient,
compliant and effective hiring experience at the University of Utah.



The TA Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert on
recruitment best practices, systems, and internal standard operating procedures. The TA specialist will maintain employment brand and
recruitment outreach projects such as attending job fairs and developing relationships with applicants, hiring managers and external talent
partners.

Responsibilities
Support hiring teams in building a recruitment plan or developing recruitment related materials to ensure
quality candidates that meet needs.



Provide exceptional support to job seekers and hiring managers via phone, email, or in
person.

Serve as subject matter expert on Applicant Tracking system. Maintain recruitment procedure SOPs, hiring guides, and support
implementation of new recruitment related technology.



Support Talent Acquisition operations by regularly maintaining and auditing job
postings, advertising requests, and metrics related to talent acquisition university-wide.

Comply with organization policy and
government regulatory guidelines. Maintain SOPs or trainings related to recruitment compliance. Support regular audits to ensure
departmental compliance.



Define and implement sourcing strategies to build pipelines of potential candidates.

Maintain
applicant special handling list and veterans’ preference request.


Source, screen, attract, interview and hire candidates for the
University of Utah Human Resource Management and any other assigned departments.

Support onboarding, training, and talent management
processes for incoming university staff.


Coordinate and attend community outreach events such as internal and external career fairs,
school visits, etc. with the intention of building a talent pipeline.

Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in
discipline.

Minimum
Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related
work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Recruiter / Talent Acquisition
Specialist, I:
Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or equivalency)
degree.Related work experience may include performing employee or applicant related functions, analyzing and presenting data, training or
onboarding staff, and developing relationships with stakeholders.



Preferences
Experience working in an applicant tracking
system or HRIS system.

Experience working in employee recruitment, employee onboarding, or talent management.


Ability to be
the face of the organization for talent acquisition- providing applicants or hiring teams with information highlighting the organization as
an employer of choice.

Ability to develop strong interpersonal alliances at appropriate levels both within and outside the
organization.


Communicates well with customers and applicants in a way that builds relationships and enhances the candidate and
hiring manager experience.
