JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State is searching for a
full time Truck Driver (Commonwealth Campus) – Grade 6 – Grade 6 to join the team. Duties include:
- Load and unload supplies,
equipment, etc. Onto or from truck; verify each item against requisition to ensure accurace - Handle supplies and equipment,
etc. - Carefully according to type and pack to avoid damage in transit or storage
- Drive truck to deliver supplies and
equipment to commonwealth campus or university park locations according to schedule - Assist with unloading and obtain signature of
receiving agent when goods are unloaded - Pick-up supplies and equipment, etc. From commonwealth campus and university park locations
and deliver as directed - Check truck tires, gas, oil, water, lights, brakes system, etc. To ensure operating readiness; drive truck
carefully and observe all traffic regulations - Deliver interdepartmental mail, as directed
- Unload, check and store incoming
supplies and equipment; operate electric lift truck, hand truck, hand jack and similar equipment - Assemble orders from requisitions,
as required - Assist in taking and spot-check inventory, as requested
- Perform general cleaning in building area
- Detect
any unusual conditions and report to supervisor - Stay overnight at different location; drive truck to pick-up supplies and equipment
from manufacturers and vendors - Perform other duties related or similar to the type described above
Job Requirements:
Requires the use of commercial English, grammar and arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including
decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, together with the use
of adjustable measuring instruments, graduates and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications; or the posting,
preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data. Work from requisitions and other forms
requiring posting and checking. Accuracy required in checking and counting orders. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A required. Over
6 and up to 9 months of effective experience.
Work Schedule: 4:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Days Off: Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday

Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License Class A – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
BACKGROUND
CHECKS/CLEARANCES
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with
University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and
successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. This position is subject
to federal Department of Transportation testing for alcohol and controlled substances (49 CFR PART 40), and physical examination
requirements as per PA. CODE 231.85.
