Description

The primary functions of this position are to provide tutoring to GCSC students enrolled in reading or writing courses.


The position may require non-standard hours (nights and weekends). Though working hours may be flexible, scheduling will be based primarily on the scheduling needs of the program participants. The position also requires the ability to work with faculty, staff and students. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, verbal, listening and communication skills are required, as well as an exceptional ability to convey personal knowledge to students in a fundamental and supportive manner.

Examples of Duties


Provide individual or group tutoring on specific assignments

Develop tutorial material related to courses


Attend professional development and training

Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Associates, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an institutionally accredited institution in the related area of subject expertise.


Tutoring experience is preferred.
Position is sensitive requiring a background check. Notice of E’ Verify participation.
