General Summary

Will be responsible for performing groundskeeping, landscaping, and maintenance duties. Performs tasks necessary to maintain the campus safely, clean, and presentable to provide a comfortable learning and working environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Will perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with college policies and procedures.



Essential Functions

Responsible for groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, mulching, weeding, working on lawn irrigation system, planting, proper tree pruning. Take part in landscape bed installs. Take part in design and installs of annual flower plantings. Keeps grounds free of trash, monitors, and dumps exterior trash receptacles.



Essential Functions

Responsible for fertilizer, herbicide, and pesticide applications. A Nebraska State Applicator’s License, and a category 04 – Ornamental and Turf Pest Control are required. Keep an inventory of chemicals and ensure correct labeling and storage is maintained.

Operates power machines such as mowers, trimmers, tillers, aerial lifts, chainsaws and other types of equipment. Performs general maintenance to groundskeeping equipment. Will convert and prep equipment for snow removal during the winter months.



Essential Functions

May assist with routine preventative and emergency maintenance tasks to include but not limited to: lubrication, filter replacement, and bulb replacement. Assist in tasks relating to repair and maintenance, including painting, carpet repair, and PM’s for roofs.



Essential Functions

Removes snow from campus sidewalks, streets, and parking lots and applies ice melt by hand or equipment. Will operate and perform the general maintenance on assigned snow removal equipment and provide information to maintain campus snow logs.

Sets up chairs and other furnishings in the proper format for special events such as graduation, workshops, and seminars.
