JOB SUMMARY:
The Building and Grounds Manager for Livestock Poultry Health is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operation and management of LPH facilities and grounds. This includes ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance of building and grounds, coordinating with contractors and implementing schedules to support the staff, operations and functional of LPH. This individual will serve as Clemson University Building Security Coordinator for LPH. This individual would be on call should any emergency arise at LPH. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
20% – Supervision: Supervises one Trades Specialist IV to maintain building, equipment, ground maintenance & vehicle maintenance. Maintains records of all equipment and preventative maintenance reports and ensures that all repairs are scheduled based on what is recommended to keep equipment 40% – General maintenance, repairs, safety compliance and grounds maintenance: Direct and coordinate all routine maintenance, repair and daily operation of building and grounds to include incinerator, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting. Performs all analysis of all repairs, rehabilitation or new construction projects at LPH including safety/cost analysis as well as permitting concerns. Acts as liaison to all outside vendors and contractors. Gives final inspection and completion approval for all project prior to payment. Keeps Operations Manager and Director of LPH informed of all activities. 15% – Supports goals of LPH: Assist Director and Operations Manager with planning, operations and compliance for all systems to support goals of at LPH. 10% – Clemson University Building Security Coordinator for LPH: This individual would fill the role of Clemson University Building Security Coordinator and required to take all training and certifications associated with this role. 15% – Carpentry, Electrical and Plumbing Repairs: Handles routine plumbing repairs to lavatories, bathrooms, and equipment such as steam generator, water distillers, auto calves and sterilizers. Replaced valves, fitting and filter. Contact outside vendors when necessary to complete repairs

Minimum Requirements:
An Associate’s degree and professional experience directly related to the area of employment.

Acts as a Lead by guiding the work of others who perform essentially the same work.

No fiscal responsibility for the department’s budget.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:
- Expected Salary Range
- $52,100 – $76,000
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:
Emergency Response – In the event of an emergency closure or modified operations, this position is required to respond in order to provide the University’s initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on call.
