Position
Overview:


Nursing Tutors at UNF play a vital role in supporting undergraduate nursing students in their academic journey. You
will provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions in undergraduate nursing courses. Nursing tutors guide students through their own
learning and empower students to enhance their understanding of material, learn how to navigate their courses, develop effective study
habits, and boost their confidence in their academic abilities.

Responsibilities:


  • Conduct tutoring
    sessions in either one-on-one or small group arrangements.

  • Assist students in reviewing nursing course concepts and preparing
    for future assignments.


  • Provide tailored support based on individual learning needs and styles.

  • Encourage
    students to develop effective study strategies and critical thinking skills.


  • Identify and utilize useful external resources
    to reinforce student learning.

  • Maintain a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where students feel
    comfortable.


  • Maintain regular communication with the Student Success Coach and course faculty to ensure tutoring remains
    aligned with course objectives while maintaining appropriate student confidentiality.

  • Participate in training and
    professional development opportunities as assigned in accordance with guidelines from the College Reading and Learning Association
    (CRLA).


  • Collaborate with the SON Student Success Coach for continuity and effective student support

  • Uphold
    University and School of Nursing policies related to academic integrity and confidentiality.




Requirements:

  • BSN or graduate degree in nursing.


  • Currently hold an unencumbered RN/APRN
    license in Florida.

  • At least one year of full-time clinical practice in nursing.


  • Strong communication skills
    and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.

  • Time management skills in organizing your
    schedule.


  • Adaptability to adjust methods and recommendations based on student need.

  • Maintain a minimum
    commitment of four scheduled tutoring hours per week, with additional hours available based on student demand and operational needs.
    Meetings can be held in person on campus, at the Sim Center or virtually as appropriate for student needs.




Position
Specifics:

  • OPS position – flexible but no more than 29 hours/week



  • Pay =
    $25/hour

  • Flexible schedule but needs to be coordinated with the Student Success Coach and Director, School of Nursing as
    appropriate to be conducive to student availability.

concepts.
