TITLE: Access Services Library Assistant
DEPARTMENT:
Library
SUPERVISOR: Michael Dennis
SCHEDULE: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8 pm to 1
am
General Statement of Duties: The Part-Time Library Assistant helps students, faculty, and staff at the Library
Circulation Desk. The part-time library assistant position is a non-benefitted position.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises part-time student workers
- Renews and discharges library materials
- Helps users locate and use materials
- Opens and closes the library
- Manages library collections by inventorying,
shifting, shelf-reading and barcoding - Assists with interlibrary loan processing
- Works on special projects
- Collects fines
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Required
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding customer services
skills - Attention to detail
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Associates degree or equivalent college
experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous customer service experience
- Previous
experience working within libraries
