Front-of-House Cashier

Job Summary

The Front-of-House Cashier co-manages the concessions staff
and ticket-taking volunteers. They are responsible for cash boxes, inventory, late-seating, ensuring that programs get stuffed and stacked,
selling concessions at pre-show and intermission, and liaising with the House Manager as necessary in case of emergencies or
problems.



Responsibilities

  1. Collects money and returns change to customers.
  2. Counts money collected during shift,
    balances it with items sold, and submits to supervisor for review.
  3. Provides directions and answers general questions about parking
    permits and policies, merchandise, theater productions, etc.
  4. Opens and closes facilities at beginning and end of
    shifts.
  5. Cleans work area by sweeping floors, wiping off machines and counters.
  6. May assist at special events.

Minimum Qualifications
Six months cashiering experience or equivalency (one year
of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), basic mathematical skills, and demonstrated human relations and
effective communication skills required. Word processing and spreadsheet skills may be preferred for certain positions.

We’re looking for someone who loves the theatre, wants to see shows here at Pioneer, likes working
with volunteers, and is OK with the irregular schedule. Ideally, someone who has another part-time job or day-time job.
