JOB SUMMARY:
The Academic Support Services Manager manages and coordinates academic support and student success operations within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS). Reporting to the COPHS Office of Academic Affairs, this position is responsible for the day-to-day management, implementation, and evaluation of academic support services that promote student progression, retention, and academic achievement. The Manager oversees tutoring, supplemental instruction, academic coaching, and related academic support activities; coordinates with faculty and academic leadership to support effective teaching and learning practices; supports college-specific onboarding and instructional support efforts; and maintains operational coordination with the COPHS Office of Student Services to ensure appropriate referrals and continuity of student support.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
This position functions at the college level with primary responsibility for the operational management and coordination of academic support and instructional support services aligned with the academic mission of the College.
Essential Duties Summary
- Manage the implementation and daily operations of college-level academic support services, including tutoring, supplemental instruction, academic coaching, and related student success initiatives.
- Supervise and coordinate staff supporting academic success services, including student personnel.
- Coordinate with Deans, Directors, Department Chairs, and faculty to align academic support services with curricular and instructional priorities.
- Support faculty and academic leadership in implementing teaching and learning practices aligned with student success and curricular goals.
- Coordinate targeted workshops, learning sessions, or resources related to instructional strategies, assessment practices, and student engagement based on college needs.
- Support college-specific onboarding activities for new faculty in collaboration with Academic Affairs leadership.
- Oversee scheduling, utilization, and general operational logistics of academic support services and spaces.
- Collect, maintain, and analyze data related to academic support activities; prepare reports and summaries to inform academic decision-making, assessment, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain operational coordination with the Office of Student Services to support referrals and continuity of student support services.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of administrative procedures related to academic support operations.
- Communicate academic support policies, procedures, and expectations clearly to faculty, staff, and students.
- Assist with budget planning, tracking, and monitoring related to academic support services in accordance with institutional policies.
- Coordinate time and labor processes and support hiring documentation in compliance with Human Resources guidelines.
- Support operational needs related to academic support spaces, instructional technology, and learning resources.
- Manage calendars, timelines, and operational deliverables associated with academic support initiatives.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range: $64,197.37 – $81,851.64
Education
Master’s degree.
Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment or water treatment system.

Work Experience
Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in higher education academic support, student success services, or academic operations.
Preferred:
- Experience managing or coordinating academic support or student success initiatives at the college or school level.
- Experience with tutoring, supplemental instruction, academic coaching, or structured remediation programs.
Working/Environmental Conditions
- Prolonged standing and/or walking.
- Handling light-weight objects.
- Use of office and instructional equipment.
