Key Responsibilities:

Recognise disease manifestation in poultry.
Evaluate husbandry and biosecurity practices aimed at preventing disease in poultry.
Evaluate the storage and administration of vaccines to poultry.
Sampling of poultry for bacterial and viral diseases.
Routine biosecurity and welfare audits on production sites.
Routine lesion scoring and post mortems.
Evaluate feed and water quality
Provide reports on farm visit findings.
Administration of export registered and HPAI vaccinated facilities
Collect routine surveillance samples on HPAI vaccinated farms (weekly and monthly) if relevant.



Minimum Requirements:

National Diploma in Animal Health.
Registered with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC) as an Animal Health Technician.



Experience:

Minimum 3 to 5 years in broiler management.


Proven experience within:

Poultry production or similar animal background
Agriculture environment


Technical Competencies:

Microsoft Office Suite
Valid code B Driver’s license
