Description

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent
many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks an Application Analyst I for the Department of Information Technology. The
Application Analyst I will promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by collaborating with the Director of Application
Development and the Application Development team to support and manage campus-wide systems. This position will work closely with Marian
University schools and departments to customize existing systems and develop new solutions that meet their unique operational needs. We are
seeking applicants who are analytical, detail-oriented, collaborative, and proficient in relevant technologies, with a commitment to
excellent customer service and data integrity. This position reports directly to the Director of Application Development.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive application support to all departments of Marian
University and its affiliates through the application development team. This team is responsible for maintaining optimum application uptime
and guiding the university in adopting emerging technologies to empower students, faculty, and staff, thereby supporting Marian University’s
commitment to innovation.



AI Solution Development & Support

  • Assist in the development and support of
    AI-driven solutions for Campus processes.
  • Participate in testing and deployment of new tools and features.
  • Work with
    stakeholders to gather requirements for solution enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AI application issues as needed.

System Optimization and Maintenance


  • Maintain Campus and CORE applications to keep them
    running efficiently.
  • Work with vendor partners to resolve unexpected issues.
  • Monitor system health and proactively address
    potential issues.
  • Apply software patches and updates as directed.
  • Document maintenance activities and report on system
    status to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Campus teams to optimize system configurations and integrations.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Generate and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports using tools such as Argos and
    Tableau.
  • Assist with data extraction and analysis for Campus operations.
  • Support data quality initiatives and ensure
    report accuracy with end users.
  • Collaborate with business units to define reporting requirements.
  • Document reporting
    processes and procedures for knowledge sharing.

Project Management & Documentation


  • Participate in project
    planning and implementation for system upgrades and new applications.
  • Document system changes, configurations, and procedures.
  • Track progress on assigned tasks and communicate updates to project leads.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing and feedback
    collection.
  • Maintain organized records of project documentation and deliverables.

Change Management & Adoption

  • Support change management initiatives for new technologies and process improvements.
  • Assist with training and
    onboarding for end users.
  • Communicate changes and updates to stakeholders in a clear, timely manner.
  • Gather and respond to
    user feedback regarding system changes.
  • Promote adoption of new tools and best practices within the department.


Compliance

  • Ensure App Dev systems comply with university and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits
    and provide required documentation as needed.
  • Assist with implementing data security and privacy best practices.
  • Stay
    informed about changes in compliance regulations affecting Campus technology.
  • Report any compliance concerns supervisors
    promptly.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent
    experience.
  • Experience with enterprise applications break-fix and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage
    time independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with API integrations and
    implementations.
  • Skilled in several programming languages, including JSON and Python.
  • Excellent written and verbal
    communication skills.
  • Must be skilled at teamwork and self-motivated when working independently.
  • Willingness to work
    outside regular hours during busy periods of the school year.


Preferred

  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL using
    SSMS, SSRS, and SSIS
  • Experience supporting applications in higher education, ideally within Marian University.
  • Working
    knowledge of Colleague, Argos, StarRez, CRM Recruit, Canvas, Qualtrics, AMP, and SharePoint.
  • Hands-on experience with application
    support and user training.
  • Familiarity with business processes in Higher Ed and student information systems.
  • Ability and
    desire to learn new technologies and systems quickly.

The Application Analyst I must use sound judgment to prioritize issues,
resolve system challenges, and choose effective solutions. The role requires deciding when to escalate problems, ensuring data quality, and
adapting quickly to new technologies, all while supporting university goals and maintaining confidentiality.

crucial for the Application Analyst I, enabling effective guidance in resolving system challenges and adapting to change. Strong leaders
promote teamwork, ensure data integrity, and align efforts with university goals, fostering ongoing improvement and professional growth
within the team.
