Description:
The Assistant Director of Financial Aid assists in the administration of federal, state, and institutional
financial aid to students and must be familiar with Immaculata University, federal and state financial aid regulations and procedures. This
position processes financial aid including file review, needs analysis, financial aid packaging and federal verification. This position
serves as the Work Study Coordinator responsible for the administration, compliance, monitoring and coordination of the Federal Work-Study
(FWS) Program and institutional student employment programs. In addition, this position is the coordinator responsible for the
administration, certification, processing, and reconciliation of private educational loans. This position serves as the primary point of
contact for students, families, and lenders regarding private loan programs.
Responsibilities:
- Aid prospective and current students and their families navigating the financial aid process and providing specific support to
students potentially eligible for work-study. - Must be able to effectively communicate, and counsel enrolled and prospective students
and their family providing guidance and assistance throughout the financial aid process. - Responsible for assigned student alphabet
of prospective and current students to review applicant eligibility for financial aid, meet with and counsel families regarding available
financial aid opportunities. - Coordinate with Payroll and Human Resources regarding student employment processing.
- Verify
student work-study eligibility before employment begins - Reconcile payroll expenditures with Banner and financial aid
records. - Process and certify private education loan applications submitted by students and families
- Review loan requests to
ensure eligibility and compliance with institutional policies. - Reviews financial aid applications for accuracy, award, evaluates and
administers aid to students and completes associated verifications and collection of documentation. - Must attend open houses and
related student information sessions and events, this may include evening, weekend and non-standard work hours. - Revaluation for all
issues including but not limited to domicile issues, income validation, incorrect school, incomplete applications, outstanding requirements
to help students. - Manage the review and processing of financial aid appeals and reevaluation requests.
- Communicate appeal
decisions and next steps to students in a timely manner - Maintain accurate and complete records of all appeal
determinations. - Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- At least one year of
related experience that includes delivering accurate and courteous service in a fast-paced and demanding environment. - Requires
excellent computer skills with attention to detail and accuracy. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Word, Excel, and
associated software. - Ability to interpret and apply federal and state regulations and guidelines.
- Excellent communication,
organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to commit to a team-building approach and maintain an
effective working relationship with other employees. - Ability to exhibit courtesy and patience while working with a diverse student
population. - Ability to demonstrate confidentiality in working with client records and maintaining FERPA compliance.
- Ability
to multi-task as well as produce work independently; prioritizing work, meetings, etc. - Ability to work under pressure to meet
deadlines and objectives.
