Functions
- Supervises the effectiveness of the peer consultants, ensuring they uphold the Writing Center’s checklist
of Professional Standards - Collaborates with the Director in planning and teaching the Writing Center Practicum course, as well as
other writing workshops - Masters the body of literature representing the Writing Center’s vision of essential
pedagogy - Ensures that the Writing Center is compliant with all applicable University rules, regulations and
processes - Directs and manages the data collection systems so that all reporting requirements are met
- Manages Writing Center
promotional activities, including creating and disseminating advertising for related activities and events - Oversees the quality,
use, documentation and security of equipment - Creates processes that ensure the retrieval and appropriate dissemination of mail and
other documents; efficient maintenance of filing, storage and inventory
systems
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in
English, journalism or related area
Minimum Experience
Two (2) years’ related
experience
Licenses/Certifications

Knowledge Skills and
Abilities
Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and ability to work in accordance with these
procedures
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Ability to use a computer and applicable software products, including
Microsoft Office
Ability to manage processes and multiple priorities and to work under pressure
Ability to establish and
maintain professional working relationships with other
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
