Job Description:
Title: Assistant Operations Manager
Unit: Non-union
Department: Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center
Reports to: RLC Operations Manager
Position Summary
At The Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center, we owe our success to the efficiency of organizational processes. To help maintain and grow this standard, we’re seeking a reliable Assistant Operations Manager to support morning and evening facility supervisory efforts along with our daily programming activity schedule. Serving as an aid to the Operations Director, this position will handle day-to-day needs for all health and wellness programming and event rental setups, execution, and breakdowns. Additionally, this individual will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for athletes, coaches, and community members throughout the building – possessing good communication and teamwork skills as well as professionalism and attention to detail. Lastly, the Assistant Operations Manager will be responsible for completing inventory reports, equipment maintenance requests, and other accommodations as needed by the Operations Manager, Director of Events, and/or the Sr. Director of Operation. The position will be asked to open/close the facility weekly and on an as-needed basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review operational requirements (as provided by the Director of Events and/or Operations Manager) prior to regularly scheduled events and facility programming initiatives
- Lead material set-up, execution, breakdown, and cleaning efforts as needed
- Maintain facility preparation, organization, and cleanliness of the following areas: fieldhouse; gymnasium; cardio room; weight room; and all other meeting spaces.
- Organize fieldhouse storage areas and handle equipment inventory, including portable basketball courts, track and field standards, etc. Must ensure all facility equipment and materials function properly and meet necessary compliance standards
- Directly address facility and/or athletic equipment concerns throughout the building; elevate those concerns to the Operations Director and/or Sr. Director of Operations when necessary
- Serves as liaison/ point of contact between technical support staff and external contractors (jumbotron, AV, hoops, lighting, etc.) and security
- Confirm start time and end time for event support staff (by signing them in and out of their shifts)
- Complete comprehensive operations report for Director of Events, Operations Manager
- Other duties to be assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of event supervision experience
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Successful CORI and SORI background check
- The ability to lift 25 pounds, walk up and down stairs, and move tables/chairs
- First Aid and CPR certification (6 months to complete).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree

Location: Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center 1350 Tremont Street, Roxbury MA 02120
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Varied shifts (7:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.; 1:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., Monday-Friday)
Compensation (Range): $58,500.00
Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
